Colombo (News 1st);  Tamil Progressive Alliance leader Mano Ganesan on Thursday (29) said he withdrew his signature from the petition signed seeking a Presidential Pardon for Ex-MP and murder convict Duminda Silva.

Speaking to reporters Ganesan said he signed the petition to use the publicity gained by it as an advantage to bolster calls for the release of Tamil Political Prisoners, and bring attention to their issues.

However, he said the signing of the petition was used by political opponents to destroy his political career.
