"Would an American citizen feel for our country?" - Kumara Welgama

Colombo (News1st) - MP of UPFA,  Kumara Welgama expressed these views in Welipenna, Matugama today. He mentioned that there are plenty of leaders in Sri Lanka, who can develop our country. "He obtained US citizenship and chose to leave this country. If so, would a foreigner feel for this country?", he continued. He emphasized that he feels for this country just like Mahinda Rajapaksa, Chamal Rajapaksa, and Dinesh Gunewardena do. "We never left this country", he further reasoned. In response to a question raised among the journalists alluding to Sarath Fonseka who is now speaking fondly of Gotabaya Rajapaksa, Kumara Welgama pointed out that it was Sarath Fonseka who spoke against Gotabaya Rajapaksa in the first place. He added that it is good that he has changed his views. He further highlighted that they never acted against Sarath Fonseka and that it was Sarath Fonseka who always spoke against Gotabaya Rajapksa. He noted that he is not certain about how things are now.
