COLOMBO (News 1st); The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) has initiated investigations into 300 major complaints related to large-scale corruption and fraud.
This announcement was made by the Director General of CIABOC, former High Court Judge Ranga Dissanayake.
Dissanayake revealed that many of these complaints had been pending for several years without any action.
He noted that a significant number of these cases involve former ministers and officials from previous governments.
The Director General also mentioned that approximately 15 complaints have been filed against certain former ministers.
CIABOC is committed to expediting these investigations and ensuring that those found guilty are brought to justice, said Dissanayake emphasizing the commission's dedication to swiftly concluding these investigations and enforcing the law against the wrongdoers.
