Dan Priyasad Dead After Apartment Shooting; Police Launch Investigations

COLOMBO (News 1st); Police say that investigations are underway to apprehend the suspects involved in the murder of political activist Dan Priyasad.

According to police, multiple investigation teams have been deployed to probe into the incident.

Dan Priyasad sustained critical injuries last night following a shooting carried out by two unidentified individuals inside an apartment complex in Salamulla, Kolonnawa. 

He was admitted to the Colombo National Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment.

The 39-year-old Dan Priyasad was a resident of Meethotamulla in Wellampitiya.

Police stated that the suspects arrived on a motorcycle and opened fire using a pistol-type firearm.

His body is currently placed at the mortuary of the Colombo National Hospital.
