One dead in Polonnaruwa elephant attack

COLOMBO (News 1st); A man has died after being attacked by a wild elephant in Aralagangwila, Polonnaruwa area on Friday (12).

He was attacked by wild elephants last night when he was looking out for his plantation.

The deceased was identified as a 61-year-old father of three, residing in the Ruhunugama area.

Farmers point out that the wild elephants arriving from the Maduru Oya Reserve continue to damage their crops.

This is the third wild elephant attack victim, from the area, this year.
