Court Order Issued To Prevent Protest Near Colombo Hospital

COLOMBO (News 1st) - A court order was issued today preventing a group, including the co-convener of the Allied Health Sciences Graduates' Union, from entering several areas, including the Colombo Hospital Square.

The order was issued following a request made by the Maradana Police to the Maligakanda Magistrate Court.

The request was made based on information that a protest was planned, to discourage applicants from appearing for an examination being held today for the recruitment of graduates.

The order applies to the co-convener and secretary of the Allied Health Sciences Graduates' Union, the convener of the Inter-University Students' Federation, the chairman of the Joint Federation of Paramedical Services Trade Unions, and their representatives.

Accordingly, they are prohibited from entering the Colombo Hospital Square and surrounding areas from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. today.

The examination for the recruitment of Medical Laboratory Technologists and Physiotherapists in the Paramedical Services is being held today.
