Police Crack Down on Drugs and Drunk Driving; 35,000 Officers Deployed During Festive Season

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Minister of Public Security and Parliamentary Affairs Ananda Wijepala said that the Police have intensified drug raids across the Sri Lanka during the festive season.

He said that special operations are also being carried out to identify and apprehend drunk drivers.

The Minister urged the public to take necessary precautions to reduce the risk of accidents during the New Year celebrations.

More than 35,000 police officers have been deployed islandwide to ensure security during the festive season.
