Two suspects who aided Deshbandu to evade authorities, granted bail

COLOMBO(News1st) - The two individuals arrested on charges of aiding and abetting IGP Deshabandu Tennakoon to evade arrest have been released on bail.

The arrested police constable was produced before the Matara Magistrate today and was granted bail on two sureties of Rs. 1 million each.

Meanwhile, the 47-year-old resident of Thalawathugoda, who was arrested in connection with the incident, was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Thalawathugoda when the Kaduwela Magistrate examined him.

Accordingly, the Kaduwela Magistrate ordered the suspect to be released on a surety bail of Rs. 1 million.

The two suspects were ordered to appear before the Matara Magistrate's Court on April 3.

Deshabandu Tennakoon has been remanded until April 3.
