Government to Introduce Law to Retrieve Stolen Assets – President

COLOMBO (News 1st) - President Anura Kumara Dissanayake says that the proceeds of crime bill to recover illegally acquired assets will be presented to Parliament on April 8.

Speaking at a public meeting in Welipitiya, Matara, yesterday, the President emphasized that the law is aimed at retrieving stolen assets, not at targeting individuals for personal revenge.

He stated that the government has a responsibility to hold the corrupt accountable and uphold the country's sovereignty.
