SLAF Pilots Conduct Emergency Evacuation for UN in Africa

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka Air Force Pilots stationed in the Central African Republic as part of the United Nations Peacekeeping Force performed a critical Casualty Evacuation mission last week.

The Sri Lanka Aviation Unit for MINUSCA stationed in Bria in the Central African Republic was tasked with undertaking an early dawn Casualty Evacuation mission or CASEVAC on May 20, 2024. 

A Mi-17 UNO 324P was designated to carry out the challenging CASEVAC operation. 

The mission was carried out to evacuate three UN members who met with a vehicle accident in a remote location in the Rafai area.
