Special raids ongoing regarding unlicensed buses

COLOMBO (News 1st); The National Transport Commission said special raids are ongoing regarding buses carrying passengers without a license.

NTC Director General Dr. Nilan Miranda said four teams were deployed for this purpose.

Attention was directed towards the issue of unlicensed buses following the fatal accident involving a bus in Manampitiya, Polonnaruwa.

The unlicensed bus veered off the Kotaleeya Bridge and fell into a canal killing 10 people and injuring over 40 others.
