'4-day work week' proposal to Cabinet, today (13)

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Ministry of Public Administration said that the proposal to grant a holiday for the public sector on Fridays will be produced to the Cabinet of Ministers on Monday (13).

Minister Dinesh Gunawardana said if the cabinet approves the proposal steps will be taken to implement the relevant program from this week, thus introducing a 4-day work week for the Public Sector with a holiday on Friday.

However, this will not apply to health, education, and essential services, the minister said.
