14 Mn Pfizer doses procured to be given as 3rd vaccine dose for Sri Lankans

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Chairman of the State Pharmaceuticals Corporation of Sri Lanka said that the SPC has secured the booster dose for the Sri Lankan population.

Dr. Prasanna Gunasena said that an order was placed for 14 million doses of the Pfizer vaccine to be given as the third dose for Sri Lankans.

He said the third vaccine dose will be administered from mid-October or early November to the total population in the country.

SPC has so far secured a total of 31.7 million COVID-19 vaccine doses, which is adequate to vaccinate the over 18 population in Sri Lanka with both vaccine doses, said Dr. Prasanna Gunasena, the Chairman of the State Pharmaceuticals Corporation of Sri Lanka.
