533 people from Colombo COVID positive; 145 each from Gampaha & Kalutara

COLOMBO (News 1st); 533 people from the Colombo District tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday (29) said the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO). Gampaha and Kalutara Districts recorded 145 COVID-19 cases each while 107 infections were reported from the Kurunegala District. COVID-19 cases in Sri Lanka hit a record high on Thursday (29) with 1531 cases reported from across the country. "1,491 of these cases were from the New Year Cluster and the rest were those who returned from overseas and tested positive for the coronavirus," said the NOCPCO. Since the 04th of October 2020, a total of 106,483 people tested positive from across the island, said the NOCPCO.
