COVID numbers rise in SL with new cases from 'New Year Cluster'

COLOMBO (News 1st); COVID-19 cases in Sri Lanka continued to rise on Thursday (29) with 1077 infections being reported by 06:45 PM, said the Department of Government  Information.

Notably, until Wednesday (28) all infections were classified as 'Peliyagoda Cluster', 'Prison Cluster' and returnees from oveaseas. On Thursday's statement the government information department referred to the new COVID-19 infections from the 'New Year Cluster'.
