Warning for Valentines Day party-goers

Colombo (News 1st); Sri Lanka Police issued a strong warning against those who plan to organize or attend parties on Valentine's day, 14th of February 2021.

Police Spokesperson DIG Ajith Rohana speaking to News 1st said sleuths have uncovered information of unauthorized parties and events being organized on Valentine's day via various social media platforms at hotels and resorts. Organizing such events and parties is strictly prohibited, stressed the Deputy Police Chief adding special police teams have been deployed to monitor such events. Hotels, resorts, and guest houses hosting such parties will be raided and the attendees, as well as the organizers and hosts, will be arrested and prosecuted as per the provisions of the law, he said.
