2021 Appropriation Bill will be presented on Tuesday (17)

Colombo (News 1st); The Sri Lankan Parliament is scheduled to convene at 1.40 pm on Tuesday (17) for the presentation of the 2021 Appropriation Bill, which is also the 75th in Sri Lankan history.

The Minister of Finance and Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa will present the 2021 Appropriation Bill for the Second Reading.

The Appropriation Bill is presented to allocate Rs. 2,678 billion for the service expenditure and according to the Bill, the limit on borrowings for the financial year 2021 has been set at Rs. 2,900 billion.

Seats will be reserved for invited Ambassadors and officials authorized by the Ministry of Finance only in the Speaker's Gallery during the budget presentation, tweeted the Sri Lankan Parliament.

The Public Gallery and the Media Gallery will remain closed during the presentation of the budget.

The Second Reading debate will take place from the 18th to the 21st of November and the vote will take place at 05:00 PM on the 21st of November.

The committee stage debate will take place on the 23rd of November and will end on the 10th of December.

Thereafter, the vote will be called for at 05:00 PM on the 10th of December.

The Sri Lankan Parliament said the Parliamentary Sessions will take place according to the health regulations and guidelines.
