COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka Cricket announced its Executive Committee at its Emergency Meeting held on Wednesday afternoon, unanimously decided to appoint Dr. Jayantha Dharmadasa as the new Vice President of SLC for the position made vacant by virtue of K. Mathivanan’s resignation.
Sri Lanka Cricket stated the said resignation of Mathivanan comes in the wake of the recent unanimous decision of Executive Committee to hold an inquiry against Mathivanan for indulging in unethical practices in his capacity as an Office Bearer.
On Wednesday morning, Sri Lanka Cricket’s (SLC) Vice President K. Mathivanan resigned from his post expressing disappointment at the conduct of the local cricketing authority.
“The current administration carries out their duties without transparency and integrity,” Mathivanan said in his resignation letter on Wednesday.
He added that SLC has sidelined him from administration activities contrary to the norms which require Vice Presidents to participate in the process.
