Advisory for strong wind and rough seas

COLOMBO (News 1st): The deep and shallow sea area off the coast extending from Puttalam to Trincomalee via Mannar and Kankasanturai and Galle to Potuvil via Hambantota will be rough at times as the wind speed can increase up to 60-65 kmph at times.

"Deep sea areas to the South and South East of the island can be rough to very rough at times as the wind speed can increase up to 60-65 kmph at times," issuing an advisory the Department of Meteorology said.

Other sea areas around the island can be fairly rough at times as the wind speed can increase up to 40-50 kmph. Department of Meteorology advices Naval and fishing communities to be vigilant in this regard.
