COLOMBO (News1st): The island-wide curfew imposed at 6 pm last Friday, was lifted at 6 am today (March 23) except for eight districts including Colombo, Gampaha and Puttalam.
The President's Media Division, previously announced that the curfew imposed in the Colombo, Gampaha, and Puttalam districts have been extended until 6 am tomorrow.
The Vavuniya, Mullaitivu, Kilinochchi, Mannar and Jaffna districts in the Northern Province will also continue to be under curfew.
Residents of these districts will not be allowed to leave their respective areas, after a foreign Pastor who attended a church ceremony in the Northern region this month, was diagnosed with COVID - 19.
The police curfew that will be lifted at 6:00 am tomorrow for Colombo, Gampaha, Puttalam, Mannar, Vavuniya, Mullaitivu, Killinochchi and Jaffna will be re-imposed at 2:00 pm the same day.
