500 New STF Recruits To Tackle Organized Crime: Public Security Ministry

COLOMBO (News 1st): The Ministry of Public Security states that it intends to deploy 500 newly recruited Special Task Force (STF) personnel to suppress organized crime and other illegal activities.

Minister of Public Security Ananda Wijepala says these new STF members will complete their training and report for duty soon.

In addition, four police teams have been deployed to control the recent spate of shooting incidents in the Southern Province.

Furthermore, two special police teams have been stationed in Ambalangoda to tackle organized crime in the area.
