COLOMBO (News 1st); A special operation has been launched to identify and apprehend individuals who have been aiding suspended Inspector General of Police (IGP) Deshabandu Tennakoon in evading arrest.
The police have deployed nine teams from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to carry out this mission.
This development comes as the Court of Appeal today (17) rejected the writ petition filed by Tennakoon.
The petition sought to prevent his arrest, but it was dismissed without examination by a bench led by Acting President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Mohammed Laffar Tahir.
