Chief Gunman of 'Karandeniya Sudda's Gang Arrested

COLOMBO (News 1st); The main gunman of the organized crime gang led by "Karandeniya Sudda" has been arrested.

The Criminal Investigation Department apprehended the suspect this morning at the Bandaranaike International Airport.

He was attempting to flee to Thailand using a forged passport.

The suspect is accused of the recent murder of a retired officer from the Boossa Prison, who was shot dead in front of his house.

The 31-year-old suspect is a resident of Ambalangoda.

Police stated that he tried to escape the country using a forged passport under the name Lakindu Sandeep Bandara.

The police further mentioned that the suspect is wanted in connection with several murders and financial frauds in the Galle and Ambalangoda police divisions.
