Four arrested over assault on STF

COLOMBO (News 1st):- Four suspects who had disturbed the duty of Police STF officers who were transporting timber that had been left cut down at the Lathugala reserve in Uhana have been arrested. The police said that a group of people who blocked the way of the STF officers had assaulted them. The assault had resulted in an officer sustaining minor injuries. However, the three-wheeler that the suspects arrived in was also damaged. The three-wheeler was seized by the police following the incident. The arrested suspects are due to be presented before the Ampara Magistrates Court.
