The Employability Skills and Youth Empowerment Programme
was inaugurated
yesterday (February 11). This
was organised by
the Sri Lanka China Trade and Investment Promotion Chamber.
SINCIO International Education LLC and the Sri Lanka Institute of Career Guidance of the Presidential Secretariat were
actively
involved in organising the event
.
Ravi Karunanayake, the Minister of Power, Energy and Business Development addressed the attendees. He noted that an ambitious plan is on course to generate a total of 25,000 Mandarin speaking task force.
He added that graduates will
be employed
as language interpreters, English and Mandarin teachers, and employees of Chinese companies and organizations
. They will contribute
significantly
to the betterment of the economy.
