Vice Admiral Damian Fernando Assumes Duties As 27th Navy Commander

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Vice Admiral Damian Fernando, who has been appointed as the new Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy, officially assumed duties at the Navy Headquarters today (01).

Rear Admiral Damian Fernando, who served as the Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Navy, was promoted to the rank of Vice Admiral and afterwards appointed as the 27th Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.

Meanwhile, Outgoing Navy Commander Vice Admiral Kanchana Banagoda, was promoted to the rank of Admiral.
