Colombo Fort Magistrate Rules Against Suresh Salley; Rejects Request to Provide Stationary and Writing Material

COLOMBO (News 1st): The Court has ordered that the investigation conducted by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) into former State Intelligence Service Chief Suresh Salley cannot be transferred away from the current CID Director.

The order was pronounced when the case was taken up before the Colombo Fort Magistrate's Court, today.

Issuing a 23-page order, Chief Magistrate Pasan Amarasena also rejected a request to provide Suresh Salley with writing materials and stationery.

The Chief Magistrate further dismissed a request made by Salley to provide a confidential statement.

Chief Magistrate Amarasena further ordered for former intelligence chief to be produced in all future proceedings, via video conference.
