1,217 Dengue Cases Reported In 24 Hours; Islandwide Control Program To Begin

COLOMBO (News 1st): The Ministry of Health states that 1,217 dengue patients were reported within the last 24 hours.

Dr. Kapila Kannangara, Director of the National Dengue Control Unit, stated that 55,409 dengue patients have been reported across the island so far.

Of the total number of patients, 52.5 percent are reported from the Western Province.

Dr. Kapila Kannangara also stated that 32 people have died from dengue so far this year.

Meanwhile, it has been decided to implement another three-day mosquito control program across the island starting tomorrow.

Dr. Kapila Kannangara, Director of the National Dengue Control Unit, stated that the program will be carried out under the guidance of the Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils, and Local Government.
