COLOMBO (News 1st): The Managing Director of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC), Mayura Neththikumara, stated that another vessel carrying 35,500 metric tons of diesel arrived in the country yesterday.
Unloading operations for that vessel have already commenced.
Managing Director Mayura Neththikumara further mentioned that two more fuel shipments are scheduled to arrive within this month.
One of those vessels reportedly contains 30,000 metric tons of 92-octane petrol and 5,000 metric tons of 95-octane petrol.
The Managing Director added that the other vessel contains 8,000 metric tons of jet fuel and 32,000 metric tons of diesel.
Accordingly, it was noted that the country has a sufficient fuel supply to last until May.
Meanwhile, the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation stated that over 6 million users have registered for the fuel QR code system.
