Train Services To Resume From 20th; Northern Line Closed For Renovation

COLOMBO (News 1st): RSteps have been taken to resume several train services that were suspended due to the recent cyclonic disaster. 

Accordingly, the Colombo–Trincomalee Night Mail train will resume service from the 20th of January.

The Pulathisi Intercity Express Train from Colombo to Batticaloa is also scheduled to run daily starting from the 20th.

The Colombo–Batticaloa Udaya Devi Express train will also resume operations on the 20th.

Meanwhile, under a grant from the Government of India, renovation work on the Northern Railway line is set to begin from the 19th.

As a result, the Railway Department stated that trains will not operate on the section from Maho to Anuradhapura during this period.
