COLOMBO (News 1st) – Sri Lanka has welcomed 131,898 tourists in the first 15 days of January, according to the latest report released by the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA).
India emerged as the leading source market, with 23,786 visitors arriving in the island nation. Russia followed with 14,785 tourists, while the United Kingdom contributed 12,166 visitors. Germany accounted for 9,260 arrivals, and France brought in 6,252 tourists.
Other notable arrivals included Australia with 6,251 tourists, China with 5,188, Poland with 4,804, the United States with 3,700, and the Netherlands with 3,657 visitors.
The SLTDA report highlights that these numbers reflect a steady recovery in Sri Lanka’s tourism sector, showcasing growing confidence among international travelers to visit the country.
