COLOMBO(News 1st); The Geological Survey and Mines Bureau says special teams will continue inspections in areas affected by Cyclone Ditwah.
Chairman Saman Jayasinghe says that these teams have been engaged in the observation process for three weeks.
He said the teams will identify suitable locations for building new houses as well as areas that are vulnerable.
He added that a full inspection will also be conducted to determine whether damaged bridges, culverts, and other structures can be rebuilt at their original locations.
The chairman added that a final report on vulnerable areas will be issued once inspections in all areas are completed.
The Geological Survey and Mines Bureau is conducting these inspections together with the National Building Research Organisation.
