Special Transport Services for Sinhala and Tamil New Year

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Special passenger transport services are in operation today to facilitate travel for those heading to their hometowns for the Sinhala and Tamil New Year.

Special bus services have been deployed from major cities including Kandy, Puttalam, High Level/Low Level routes, Dambulla, and Galle.

Additional expressway buses are running to destinations such as Galle, Matara, Badulla, Tangalle, and Kataragama, with services operating from key transit hubs including Makumbura, Kadawatha, Kaduwela, and Bastian Mawatha.

Meanwhile, the Department of Railways has launched 40 special train services.

These trains will operate to Badulla, Beliatta, Anuradhapura, Galle, and Kankesanturai. 

The number of carriages on trains like the Yal Devi and Rajarata Rajina has also been increased.
