COLOMBO (News 1st) – A family that endured hardship without shelter has found hope today, thanks to the compassionate efforts of Gammadda.
A humble abode in Ranahawadiyagama, Uva Paranagama, was home to E.D. Simon and Bebinona.
Their lives were fraught with challenges, especially when one of their sons fell ill, adding to their daily struggles and the dire need for proper shelter.
After Badulla correspondent Lushanta Ratnayake shared their story with Gammadda, Manthri Amarasinghe from Borella stepped forward with unwavering support to build a new home.
Though she could not be present today, her generous contribution enabled the foundation stone to be laid, with blessings from Ven. Agunnawa Rathanasara Thero of Sri Bodhi Anganarama Temple.
Assistant Divisional Secretary P.L. Gayani Geethika, Ambagasdowa Police Station Chief R.M.K. Ratnayake, and Uva Paranagama Divisional Secretary H.N.B. Manike, along with many other officials, graced the occasion.
E.D. Simon expressed his heartfelt gratitude, stating, "I extend my heartfelt gratitude to all of you. The officials and the police chief have provided immense support. Through Gammadda, the foundation stone was laid today, and my relatives also joined."
