COLOMBO (News 1st); An Extraordinary Gazette has been issued to implement new regulations for controlling medicine prices in Sri Lanka.
The notification, issued by the Minister of Health, Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa, grants the National Medicines Regulatory Authority (NMRA) the authority to revise the maximum retail prices of medicines twice a year.
Additionally, the NMRA is empowered to adjust these prices at any time in response to significant fluctuations in the value of the dollar, ensuring the public's access to affordable medicines.
