Sexual Assault on Doctor at A'pura Hospital: Doctors Launch Islandwide Strike

COLOMBO (News 1st); Doctors will be engaging in an island-wide strike today.

Media Spokesperson for the Government Medical Officers' Association, Dr. Chamil Wijesinghe, confirmed this.

Meanwhile, the police stated that operations are ongoing to arrest the suspect who assaulted the female doctor at the Anuradhapura hospital, adding that he has now been identified.

The police also said that the Sri Lanka army and the Police Special Task Force were also involved in the operation to apprehend him.
