COLOMBO (News 1st): Bus unions have decided not to proceed with the planned nationwide strike.
This decision was made following a discussion held this morning with Acting Inspector General of Police Priyantha Weerasooriya.
The discussion focused on the transportation operations being conducted in conjunction with the Clean Sri Lanka program. Private bus unions engaged in this dialogue with the Acting Inspector General to address their concerns.
Previously, the bus unions had planned to launch a nationwide strike in protest, claiming that the police were exerting undue pressure on bus operations.
