Government Extends Rice Import Deadline To January 10, 2025

COLOMBO (News 1st); The government has decided to extend the deadline for rice imports until January 10, 2025.

This decision was made during a discussion held last night at the Ministry of Trade.

The previously granted time period for rice imports was set to conclude today.

Meanwhile, Sri Lanka Customs reports that 35,600 metric tons of rice stocks that were ordered by private importers have already arrived in the country.
