Additional Time Period Granted for Submission of Aswesuma Applications

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Welfare Benefits Board has decided to grant an additional period for individuals to submit applications for the Aswesuma welfare program. 

This grace period will be in effect until the 2nd of December, 2024. 

Applicants should hand over their applications to the relevant divisional secretariat within this timeframe. 

The application form can be obtained from the divisional secretariat itself, or downloaded from the official website of the Welfare Benefits Board. 

The Board also says that the opportunity will be provided for grievances to be submitted by individuals who feel they were unfairly not selected during the selection of beneficiaries under the first phase of the Aswesuma program.

The time period to submit appeals and grievances will conclude on the 15th of December. 

Around 1.7 million individuals are expected to benefit from the first phase of the Aswesuma program.
