Over 1,000 MSD Officers Reassigned

COLOMBO (News 1st); Acting Inspector General of Police, Priyantha Weerasooriya said that all police officers assigned to the security of former ministers and parliamentarians have been reassigned to their respective police stations.

He stated that all officers previously deployed for such security duties have now been recalled.

Approximately 1,200 police officers have been reassigned as part of this process.

This reassignment follows the recent dissolution of Parliament, which necessitated the recall of officers assigned to the security of former ministers and parliamentarians.
