Nominations For General Election Accepted From Today (4)

COLOMBO (News 1st); The submission of nominations for the general election begins today.

The Chairman of the National Election Commission, R.M.A.L. Ratnayake, stated that all necessary arrangements have been made for this process.

Nominations can be submitted until noon on the 11th.

The Chairman also mentioned that no incidents related to the general election have been reported so far.

Deputy Inspector General of Police and Attorney-At-Law Nihal Thalduwa, the Police Spokesperson said that special security measures are in place around the nomination submission areas.

The 2024 general election is scheduled to be held on November 14th.
