Prison Guard Arrested with 120 Pills Meant for Inmates

COLOMBO (News 1st); A prison guard in Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka, has been arrested for allegedly possessing 120 pills believed to be intended for inmates. 

The suspect, identified as a 35-year-old resident of Mihidupura, Anuradhapura, is scheduled to appear before the Anuradhapura Magistrate Court today.

According to police reports, the pills were discovered during a search of the guard's belongings.

Authorities suspect that the suspect planned to smuggle the drugs into the Vavuniya prison, where he was stationed.
