COLOMBO (News 1st); According to the Ministry of Agriculture, the second shipment of 21,000 MT of fertilizer received under the Indian Credit Line is scheduled to reach the country in the next two weeks.
The vessel carrying the first stock of 44,000 MT of fertilizer received under Indian loan assistance reached the country last week.
The relevant fertilizer stock is currently being distributed to farmers by Ceylon Fertilizer Company Ltd and Colombo Commercial Fertilizer Company.
The Ministry of Agriculture said that the fuel crisis was a problem during the distribution of that fertilizer and the money required for the purchase of the required fuel is to be given to the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) today (18).
