COLOMBO (News 1st); Former Army Commander and Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka has made a request from the tri forces and the police regarding the mass wave of protests tomorrow (09), requesting them to keep in mind that the protest; 'Aragalaya' is being held for them as well.
He stated that as the family and friends of the tri-forces too live in Sri Lanka, the protests are being held for all those who are suffering, therefore he appealed to the tri-forces members to not to defend any corrupt politicians and to instead defend the public.
"Don't point the gun towards the public at any point. We don't want to see the violence that happened on the 9th of last month to repeat," he emphasized.
Field Marshal Fonseka also mentioned that if the people of Sri Lanka are being threatened by its elite, the tri-forces should take steps to stand against them, and not with them to attack the people as well.
After further appealing the tri-forces members to think of the future generation of Sri Lanka, Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka mentioned that he too will be present at the Aragalaya tomorrow (9) as a non-partisan member, and invited all to join him as well.
He added that the people must understand the Government's actions to suppress them before it gets too late.
