Night-Mail trains canceled due to curfew

COLOMBO (News 1st); Department of Railways has decided to cancel all mail trains tonight (16) due to the curfew in effect from 11.00 PM PM today (16) to 5.00 AM tomorrow (17).

The General Manager of Railways Dhammika Jayasundara said that the rest of the trains will start operating from 5.00 AM tomorrow (17).

He further said that trains would NOT operate during the curfew period.

Meanwhile, the National Transport Commission (NTC) stated that inter-provincial bus services will NOT be operational from 8 PM today (16) to 5 AM tomorrow (17).

Speaking to News 1st regarding this, the Director-General Commander of the National Transport Commission (NTC) Nilan Miranda confirmed this.
