COLOMBO (News 1st); Today most people in rural areas are worried whether they can have at least one meal, says Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna MP Chandima Weerakkody.
Speaking of the economic crisis in Galle on Sunday (26), the SLPP MP said that the Government needs to implement a practical program to win the trust of the people, who are now left disappointed.
Moreover, MP Weerakkody said that the Government encouraged people to have two meals in a context when the people in rural areas cannot even afford a single meal, and some Ministers are even encouraging the people to grow their own food at home.
Pointing out that the Government need not the advice of specialists to see the fertilizer crisis impacting the food shortage, the MP stated that the Government will not be able to stop the downfall of the nation if a practical program is not implemented soon.
