Highest tourist arrivals in 2021 recorded in October

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Sri Lanka Tourist Development Authority says that the highest tourist arrivals in Sri Lanka were recorded in October this year. Secretary to the Ministry of Tourism, Siripala Hettiarachchi says that the tourist arrivals in the country has seen an increase since January this year, in comparison to those after the COVID-19 pandemic began last year. He added that considering the easing of travel restrictions in the country, the Ministry of Tourisms expects to see a rise in the tourism rate.
