No recommendation on third dose yet: DDGHS

COLOMBO (News 1st): The Deputy Director-General of Health Services, Dr. Hemantha Herath says that no specific recommendation has been made regarding the administration of a third dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and that no decision has been taken in this regard as of yet.

Addressing the media, the Deputy Director-General of Health Services assured that the Government has the capacity to implement such a recommendation as soon as it is received.

“We have the ability to implement this program as soon as we receive such a recommendation. The only limiting factor is the number of vaccines we have. If we somehow acquire the relevant doses, it will not be a problem for us to administer it ”
