Over 900 arrested for violating curfew

COLOMBO (News 1st): Another 965 persons and 89 vehicles have been taken into police custody within the past 24 hours for violating curfew regulations. Police stated that 869 persons and 556 vehicles entering the Western Province and 1,065 persons and 764 vehicles exiting the Western Province were also inspected at the 13 roadblocks set up in the Western Province yesterday (15). Accordingly, the total number of arrests made since last October is 73,078. The Police also stated that 308 persons and 197 vehicles were diverted due to lack of permission to cross the road.
