03 buses seized for crossing provinces; 03 passengers test COVID positive

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Karadiyanaru Police arrested three bus drivers their three assistants for breaching the inter-province travel restrictions on Friday (02).

Police Spokesperson Senior DIG Ajith Rohana speaking to News 1st said that 49 passengers on board the three buses were tested for COVID-19 and three people had tested positive for the coronavirus.

Accordingly, 17 passengers were ordered to undergo quarantine.

The three drivers and their assistants will be charged under the provisions of the Quarantine and Prevention of Diseases Ordinance.
